This December has been a bit of a whirlwind… The month began with my house still recovering from a complete ‘overhaul’ on paint color.
I repainted everything to ‘all white’.
I had a houseful of guests staying for the entire Thanksgiving week which didn’t allow me time to decorate until the following week… EEK!
Half of what I had in Christmas decor from years past was centered on my previous blue paint color so I began shopping… and shopping. ;)
I had been planning on taking part in a Home Tour with some of my incredibly talented Blogger friends but decided instead to embrace the season and forego the rush to decorate my entire home in just 2 days!
I’ve pulled together a few of the pictures that I’ve been posting on Instagram that include some of the special things I’ve found along the way.
The one thing you’ll notice is that green plays a primary role this year.
The pops of green look so beautiful against the newly crisp white walls.
I carried the look further by adding gorgeous mini preserved boxwood wreaths to the backs of my Dining Room chairs and a beautiful large green plate to my Dining hutch from Ethan Allen.
I found the cutest live Lemon Cypress Trees from Safeway for a steal and used them in both my Foyer and on the top of the mantel. (they smell amazing!)
If you’ve been following me in the past you’ll already know how much I love mixing elements when decorating and Christmas is no different.
Combining beautiful glamorous items with others that are just as gorgeous but a bit more rustic adds interest and makes everything look ‘that much better’!
I have homemade ornaments hanging next to those from Christopher Radko and a rustic etched antiqued mirrored tray housing a beautiful Shagreen Blue Agate Box from Kathy Kuo Home.
This is how I decorate. If truth be told, I learned from a master… my Mother. :)
Nothing is special unless you make it so. It’s where you place a piece that can make ALL the difference to a room or a vignette.
People will wonder about it’s significance if it’s given the light to shine…
Garden Stool, Banister Table Lamp , Veranda Coffee Table Books, Lampshade
Boxwood wreath
silver tray, pre-lit wreath
greek ribbon, silver speakeasy bar tray, Kate spade plates
Blue Ginger Jars, Savannah arm chair, chenille pillow, white wooden frames , white garden stool
Tray

Hi Ive been following your blog for a while, I love your home and Cal is the cutest! Can you share the white paint color you used on your walls and trim? Im thinking of painting my house white as well. Thanks, Merry Christmas!
Of Course! Hi Risia… Thanks so much for following along! The paint I’m using is Kelly Moore, Swiss Coffee. It’s a color I’ve always loved and used on my trim and ceilings. I decided to go with the same for a seamless look. It’s a color that comes across as not too cold and sterile or yellowy at the same time. Good luck! There are so many beautiful whites available (I also love Benjamin Moore’s whites too) so I would simply suggest painting a few different whites on poster boards and taping them to your walls in different lighting to see what you like best. :) Hugs and Happy Holidays!
