Jeff’s Maple Lime Brussels Sprouts are the best!
Everyone has been asking about his recipe ever since he showed a little of it on Instagram while he was cooking the other night. I’m so fortunate to have a husband who loves to cook. He is always trying new things and adding his own personal spin. I love that while Jeff tries to keep everything fresh and healthy he isn’t above short cuts on those nights we are busy or tired. If it’s bottled lime juice instead of fresh squeezed limes then so be it. We do what we have to do sometimes but one thing I’ve noticed… I can never tell the difference. ;)
Every week I’ll introduce something different that Jeff is making. It may be a cocktail, side dish, main dish or even a dessert. I’m excited about this new category because Jeff is always making so many new things… why not share? (affiliate links used in this post)
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Jeff’s Maple Lime Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients ~
Fresh Brussels Sprouts cut in half – the amount based on personal preference
1/2 slice of bacon per serving pre-cooked or you can use packaged Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon
1/4 cup Maple Syrup
1 1/2 teaspoon Lime Juice
Olive Oil
Salt
Directions ~
Using a heavy duty sauté pan or skillet over medium heat add enough olive oil to cover bottom of pan
When hot throw in Brussels sprouts and bacon, stirring occasionally for 15 minutes
While Brussels Sprouts are cooking, mix lime juice and maple syrup in a bowl large enough to toss the Brussel sprouts when the time comes
Once Brussels Sprouts have cooked, turn heat off and let them sit for 3 minutes
Then transfer the Brussels Sprouts into the bowl with the maple/lime sauce
Toss gently but thoroughly
Add salt to taste and serve
