Finally spilling all the details about my new french-inspired pedestal dining table. I’ve been searching for the right table for my dining room since moving into our home two years ago and we were thrilled when we recently found this piece.
My previous dining table, while beautiful, was oval and took up so much space. We always felt as if we were dancing around it for our wine refills out on the patio. ;) Our french doors are used all the time and the round table shape just flows better.
With the recent popularity of raw wood furniture, I stumbled upon this gorgeous piece and knew it was perfect. It felt feminine and romantic to me with it’s curves yet masculine enough for Jeff with the graining.

I know you’re probably FREAKING out because it’s not a white painted furniture piece… so different than what I usually choose. That’s exactly the point. I wanted something entirely unique and surprise.. I have no plans to paint it.
The round shape of my new table fits perfectly under my large floral chandelier and all my friends/family are in love with it. The pedestal has a beautiful carve detail at the base and the grain adds the right amount of texture which also fills and grounds the room.
Another nice thing about this table is that it comes in three different sizes – 48″, 55″ and 60″ round. I snagged the 60″ and love the grand size because of the openness of my room and tall ceiling height. If you have a smaller space, the 48″ or 55″ would work just as well.

I love it, but know you will be painting it in a matter of months. :)
Very beautiful!! Such an improvement and warms the space too. My question is how do you handle more guests as it doesn’t look like an extention table?
BTW, your home is sooo beautiful!
Perfect!
Hi Kristy

Hi Amanda, the slipcovers actually came with the chairs.. I’m sure you could have them made by a seamstress easily. :)
