Meryl’s gorgeous custom white marble kitchen

I am thrilled to be able to share with you one of my all time favorite kitchens.
This incredible bright white gourmet kitchen with hickory planked wood floors, surrounded by honed marble and granite belongs to my Girlfriend, Meryl.
Meryl and her husband just built the home of their dreams including a kitchen made for an aspiring chef.
They are a large family with 3 grown children,  a dog and 2 cats and wanted a space that was open enough to house everyone comfortably not only for the holidays but every day.

http://147.182.138.144Meryl is Italian and cooking for her family plays a major role in her life.
This kitchen had to have everything one needs to cook like a real Italian.
It was important for Meryl to have a stove that could hold plenty of pasta pots and all the incredible cooking she loves to do.
I can’t get enough of the cute red knobs on her Wolf 6 burner Stove and the mini-mesh Calacatta backsplash that rests behind it.
The pot filler set in the middle of the gorgeous marble was a ‘must’.

The island in the center of the kitchen hugging the little hammered nickel sink is the pièce de résistance.
It is 9 feet long and topped with a honed 3/4 inch Calacutta Gold marble slab.
The corners are cut with a detailed ‘Dupont’ design that is hard to miss and the cabinetry is custom built and distressed with rich black paint.

All around the kitchen the white cabinets are topped by a honed black Virginia Mist Granite which I think really settles the space and compliments the light room.
As they say, every room needs a little black to ground it and I think the island cabinetry and surrounding granite in the kitchen do just that.
The jewelry that shines above this island is from Restoration Hardware.
The 2 beautiful Clemson Pendant lights are the perfect compliment to spotlight this special space.

http://147.182.138.144http://147.182.138.144The clean flat paneled cabinets offer a non-fussy classic elegance to the kitchen and the silver hardware takes them up a notch with it’s shiny reflective sparkle.
There is an abundance of glass cabinet doors above the most viewed wall in the kitchen directly above the stove and opposite the Family Room where Meryl’s white stoneware can shine for all to see under dimly lit lights.
I love that the refrigerator is paneled therefore hidden and instead a TV is the focus for this busy family who loves to watch sports and the stock market whenever possible.
On the opposite end of the TV sits a large window seat and dining table that is flanked by 2 beautiful glass cabinets that were made specifically for family treasures full of memories and love for all to see.

The last little mention is the coveted white farmhouse kitchen sink that Meryl insisted on to house her large pasta pots.
The Franke Farmhouse faucet compliments the sink beautifully and the Restoration Hardware Industrial Pulley Light adds a uniqueness to this nook area that offers a view into the Family Room.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my sweet friend’s favorite room in her new home.
I’ll be highlighting tons of this beautiful home throughout the year…

Cheers to ‘Dream Kitchens’ everywhere!
