Fall is just around the corner & decorating our homes is such a fun way to introduce the season. One way to add a pop of color & cozy to your space is by adding autumnal touches to the mantel and fireplace area. Usually this space is really easy to pair with any color scheme – even if your normal every day decor doesn’t scream ‘Fall’. I’ve already finished the autumn decor in this space & knew that I wanted to share my easy fall mantel decor ideas with all of you here on the blog!
For the mantel I really wanted to utilize branches & garland that matched my beautiful Dana Gibson artwork. Since it has more ‘spring & summer’ color tones I knew that I didn’t want to go too dark or heavy when it comes to color on the mantel. Thankfully I found a beautiful eucalyptus garland from Crate & Barrel at an affordable price. A few people have asked & yes, I only purchased one of the garlands for this look! But that’s because I layered it with other faux branches & faux flowers from an older wreath that helped fill it out the way I wanted.
The best part about this look is that you can do the same with whatever real or faux branches that you may have laying around. Whether from your garden or your local Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Afloral and Etsy online – there are many places to find beautiful season branches and flowers to create a look such as this.
I’ll link all of the branches & stems that I used to complete my look below along with similar florals:
Next up? All the decor pieces that I placed around the garland. I decided to go more traditional with beautiful gold candlesticks & ivory candles at varying heights. I actually picked them up from Crate & Barrel as well. (maybe they should’ve sponsored me for this look! lol ) I usually tend to go more symmetrical with my mantel but this time around I opted to place a hurricane on the left side to bring a bit of interest and weight to the space. I love these pieces & how versatile they are. I’m sure I’ll be able to use them throughout the many different seasons in a variety of ways: on the dining table, mantel, side tables, and more!
Below the mantel I always like to add something fun like a basket full of throws or stack a couple of woven boxes, etc. They provide texture and they’re useful! I’ve had this straw basket for a couple of years now – it was a Homegoods find but you can find similar baskets anywhere! Inside I added a few pops of color & texture: a caramel colored pumpkin pillow, creamy white pom pom throw & a faux foxtail bundle. All add interest and provide more of a cozy feel to the room.
All are linked below:
As for my chair & side table set up.. it’s really easy for me to decorate this space! My chair is an oldie from Pottery Barn, unfortunately they don’t make it any longer. I have an HermΓ¨s throw that Jeff gifted me for our anniversary last year – I absolutely love that he chose the caramel color because I can use it essentially year-round. You can find dupes online if you look around. ;)
The sage green velvet pillow is from Lo Home & unfortunately the maker stopped producing this color. You can find the same velvet pillow in numerous options still at Lo Home – use the code KRISTY15 for 15% off.
My side table is an older Target find and unfortunately sold out. I love the way I layered my marble scallop bowls & trays on top to anchor the bowl filled with the cider scented potpourri – perfect for Fall! The scallop bowls are currently out of stock, but they come back in stock often at Wayfair, keep checking back – Grantham Petal Tray.
Quite a few people had asked about my fireplace so I thought I’d include a few details here. It’s from Cal Mantel & it’s called the Tusmore! The insert is from Heat & Glo.
I’m really looking forward to decorating the rest of my home for Fall!
