Jeff’s Lemon Drop Recipe

Jeff's Lemon Drop Recipe - Delicious and easy summer drink option for any occasion! Perfect drink recipe for those warm evenings.

Warm summer nights are perfect for cold drinks and fun with friends. For years, our favorite go-to drink when we’re craving something light and cool has always been Jeff’s Lemon Drop. We feel like it’s the perfect Summer drink… even the perfect year-round drink. ;)

Jeff makes his lemon drops with fresh lemon juice and just the right amount of sweetness to quench your thirst. I’m always telling him they make you feel like you’re drinking something special because they’re that good! Thankfully, this recipe is pretty straight forward & doesn’t call for a specific type of lemon. Meyer, Eureka.. anything goes! You can even use packaged lemon juice if you aren’t able to get a lemon – Jeff and I really can’t tell a huge difference!

One thing we LOVE and make sure to use in this recipe is the Ketel One Citroen vodka. It brings out the lemon/lime flavor immensely and tastes amazing.

I never seem to taste the alcohol in this drink because it’s so smooth and the sugar around the rim gives it a desert like feel. If you haven’t tried a Lemon Drop before, you’re in for a real treat. I’m including the recipe below that Jeff’s been using for years. It’s really easy to make and hand’s down one of the most asked for drinks by all of our friends. Hope you enjoy! Let me in the comments below if you end up making them and what you think.

Jeff’s Lemon Drop Recipe

Jeff’s Lemon Drop Recipe
Prep Time
5 mins

Servings: 1
Ingredients
  • 2 Oz Citrus Infused Vodka – Regular vodka will work too!
  • 1/2 Oz Triple Sec
  • 1 Oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 Oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice – About 1/2 lemon
  • 1 Lemon Wedge for Garnish – And to wet the rim of the glass
  • 2 Tbsp Fine White Sugar – Caster or Baking Sugar
  • Ice
Instructions
  1. We use ‘Martini’ style glasses for our Lemon drops, but any glass will work just fine!

  2. On a plate, pour sugar in a circle about the width of the glass you will use.  Use the lemon wedge to wet the rim of the glass on both the inside and outside of the rim – About 1/8in wide.  Turn the glass upside down and place the rim into the sugar and move around to evenly coat.

  3. Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice and add vodka, triple sec, lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake well and pour into the sugar lined glass.

Hint: Adding the vodka first will help keep the ice from sticking together in the shaker…

  4. Add a lemon wedge for garnish and enjoy!

By the way… If you don’t have fresh lemons, store bought lemon juice will work just fine.
