This year I am tackling a few goals that I have been wanting to accomplish for quite awhile. One that means a great deal to me is finding a renewed love for cooking. Jeff’s favorite place in the house after a long day at work is the kitchen. He says it brings him a sense of calm and relaxation. I want to experience the same joy when pulling together a meal.
As many of you know, Jeff travels quite a bit internationally and can be gone for many weeks at a time. During those periods.. I usually order takeout or grab a bite to eat with friends and family. Not high on my list? Cooking for myself.
The past few years I have worked from home and as a result tend to look at my home as more of a work environment. If I’m being completely honest, when looking at the kitchen and trying to decide what to make for dinner.. I get a little anxious. I’m not as smooth as Jeff and whipping up dinner last-minute has never been my forte.
The main cookware collection that Jeff uses is full of color – reds, greens and royal blues. All are from Le Creuset and Jeff LOVES cooking with them. It wasn’t until Le Creuset’s latest launch, which features a palette of calming hues that I felt a sense of excitement – not only to decorate with the cookware pieces but to actually cook with them. Something new for me.
Le Creuset’s spring palette is a breath of fresh air in my kitchen. Many feel the new line exudes a zen-like vibe in soothing tones. I couldn’t agree more. The 3 new colors for their spring palette that immediately evoke clarity and calm: Sea Salt, Meringue, and Fig.
As soon as I saw the new tones of the pieces an immediate sense of relaxation came over me. The colors are spa-like and not intimidating at all. I found myself curious about the pieces that Jeff loves to cook with (and I love to decorate with) and decided to try some cooking of my own.
To the left of our range, we have a drawer devoted to our main staple cookware pieces of the moment. We like to refer to this as our ‘pantry capsule’ and switch it up with each new season. As soon as the new spring colors arrived, I couldn’t wait to fill our capsule with Meringue, Sea Salt and Fig cookware.
Many of you have told me that one of your main goals is to develop a deeper love of cooking like Jeff has. His last minute thrown together dinners always look beautiful and taste so good. His enthusiasm in my Instagram stories is contagious. My hope is that by sharing my willingness to jump back into the cooking realm, I might inspire you to do the same… Pick up a new cookware piece in a color you love, try a simple and easy recipe that doesn’t scare you off, or maybe take on both.. We can do it!
Some of the new recipes that I have been trying lately?
- Meyer Lemon-Braised Chicken in my new Meringue Dutch Oven.
- Easy homemade chicken noodle soup made with rotisserie chicken.
- Delicious veggie lasagna made with love… and pre-made sauce. ;)
Jeff always says that having the right cookware can get you off to a great start and give you the confidence needed to pull together a beautiful meal. What can help with that even more? Cookware that brings a sense of peacefulness and comfort like Le Creuset’s new palette of colors.
The 3 new colors:
Meringue – The best off-white I have ever seen. It’s a warm and elegant tone that reminds me of Benjamin Moore’s popular paint color, Simply White. Not only is this color perfect to style with, it provides the perfect backdrop for foods full of color. Click here to shop the Meringue collection.
Sea Salt – This gentle hue reminds me a little of the spa and beach. The name couldn’t be more fitting! Don’t you think it’s the prettiest blue/green combination? It’s so tranquil and the perfect styling tool for summer. Click here to shop the Sea Salt collection.
Fig – I’ve fallen in love with the deeper Fig tone with it’s soft, plum-like hue. When styling a table for entertainment, I often decorate using tiny figs.. the purple shade always adds a bit of beautiful richness to everything. Click here to shop the Fig collection.
Le Creuset is a classic household staple – not only for us, but for so many other households due to the durability and design of their products. Generations of families collect and pass down these special cookware pieces as timeless gifts… I love that idea and plan to continue this tradition with Emma. I know she will cherish each piece just we do.
If you find yourself apprehensive when approaching the thought of cooking – or even if you’re a veteran but looking for new inspiration.. Le Creuset’s new spring palette is the perfect addition to any cookware collection.
I know that with my new attitude and the beautiful new pieces from the spring collection I’m well on my way to matching Jeff’s enthusiasm behind the range. :).

These are absolutely beautiful, Kristy! I love to make a Southwestern style chicken soup. I typically make it in the morning because it’s really easy to throw it all in a large Crock-Pot and let cook for a few hours. I use 2 chicken breasts and season with preferred seasoning, 3 diced bell peppers of different colors, 2 cans white beans, 1 diced onion, any broth you prefer (used chicken broth, pour until an inch above ingredients covered), tablespoon chicken bouillon paste if on hand (you can leave it out), 2 tablespoons minced garlic, any trusted seasoning for broth, and one can *fire-roasted canned tomatoes. I let it cook with lid for 7 hours on low, or until the chicken is fully cooked. Retrieve only the chicken breasts to shred manually with fork- or a trick I use is to cut my chicken breast in thirds and let my Kitchen Aid with whisk attachment do the work for me!! You can top with cheese, cilantro, avocado, and enjoy with tortilla chips. Adapt the recipe to your liking if you prefer more fresh veggies, etc. It’ll all work together and be delicious! Plus, you’ll have plenty of leftovers as well! ?
Hi Alexis – right? I’m loving these colors! And thanks for the soup tip.. that sounds absolutely delicious and I’ll have to make this next time Jeff’s out of town.
